WHAT I ALWAYS WEAR (AND CARRY) ON SUMMER DAYS

Summer dressing becomes much easier when you have a few pieces you know you can rely on.
Instead of buying something new every season, I tend to wear the same timeless essentials on repeat. They're comfortable, easy to style, and work for everything from running errands to meeting friends or spending the afternoon by the sea.
These are the pieces I reach for most during summer—and the ones you'll almost always find with me.
1. A Linen Shirt
If I could only choose one summer wardrobe staple, it would probably be a linen shirt.
It's one of those pieces that works with almost everything. I wear it with tailored shorts, white jeans, a light midi skirt, or simply over a swimsuit on holiday.
I usually choose white, cream, or light blue because they're easy to mix with the rest of my wardrobe.
Why I love it:
It keeps you cool on warm days.
It instantly makes simple outfits look more polished.
It works just as well at the beach as it does in the city.
2. A Light Midi Skirt
A lightweight midi skirt is one of the easiest pieces to style during summer.
It feels feminine without being overly dressy and works beautifully with simple tops like a tank, a T-shirt, or a linen shirt.
Neutral colours such as white, cream, beige, or soft brown make it even more versatile.
I usually wear it with:
a linen shirt
a fitted tank top
leather sandals
simple silver jewellery
3. Comfortable Sandals
Comfort always comes first during summer.
I look for sandals that I can wear all day without thinking about them. Simple leather styles in tan, black, or cream work with almost every outfit and never go out of style.
They're the shoes I pack first for every holiday.
4. A Woven Tote Bag
A woven tote bag is one of my favourite summer accessories.
It's practical enough to carry everything I need, but it also adds texture to even the simplest outfit.
I use mine for city walks, weekend trips, beach days, and travelling.
It works just as well with linen trousers as it does with dresses or shorts.
5. Sunglasses
No summer outfit feels complete without sunglasses.
Rather than following every new trend, I prefer classic shapes that I'll wear for years.
Black, brown or tortoiseshell frames go with almost everything and always look timeless.
6. Sunscreen and a Lip Balm with SPF
These are the two products I never leave the house without during summer.
A lightweight sunscreen that sits well under makeup has become part of my morning routine, while a lip balm with SPF is something I keep in my bag all day.
They're small essentials, but they make a big difference—especially on sunny days.
7. A Light Fragrance
I usually switch to lighter fragrances during summer.
Fresh citrus, soft florals, or clean musky scents feel much more natural in warm weather than heavier perfumes.
A light fragrance is often the finishing touch before I leave the house.
My summer wardrobe doesn't change very much from year to year.
I simply return to the same pieces because they work together, feel comfortable, and make getting dressed much easier.
A linen shirt, a light skirt, comfortable sandals, a woven tote bag, sunglasses, and a few everyday beauty essentials are often all I need for a simple, polished summer outfit.
